Energy audits
Insight Rising will find ways to reduce your energy costs by 15 to 20% or more through our energy audits.
General Walkthrough Audits
For many companies (including small businesses), this service may be all that is required to create immediate savings and to develop an action plan for further energy saving activities and investments.
This type of audit generally involves a visual inspection of your facilities using a check list developed from experience in the field. Our service includes up to one half day touring the facility to find energy saving opportunities, interviews with facility managers, and a review of utility bills. If utility bills are not organized or readily available, then we will work with the utility to obtain reports (for an additional fee).
We then prepare a report that makes specific recommendations of the steps to take to quickly reduce your energy expenses. Items included in our reports include heating systems, lighting systems, building operating schedules, and insulation systems. We first recommend measures that have no cost, then identify action items that have low costs, and finally actions that may require significant investments.
ASHRAE Level 1 – Walk-through Analysis
The ASHRAE Level 1 – Walk-through Analysis Will give you a very clear understanding of:
- How much money you can save and the level of investment required by each of our recommendations.
- How your building’s performance compares with others of similar type.
- The performance of each of your major energy consuming systems.
- Your customized road map of initiatives that will save you the most money the most quickly.
This audit services follows procedures developed by The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). This audit is much more detailed than our General Walkthrough Audit. An ASHRAE Level 1 audit will include a full day walk-through of the facility, and a building benchmark using the Energy Star Portfolio Manager (co-developed by the U.S. Department of energy and the Environmental Protection Agency). ,
Our formal written report will include the energy use and cost savings of each recommendation. As with our General Walkthrough Audits we first recommend measures that have no cost, then recommend measures with low implementation costs, and finally actions that may require capital expenditures. We will also identify financial incentives and tax incentives to help fund the expenditures needed to produce desired levels of savings. This service is a required part of our LEED:EB O&M certification service.

Our advanced audits are complex and are customized to your unique requirements. Insight Rising will coordinate and manage the audit, and will bring in our engineering partners for the deep expertise that is required.
